MCP Server — Available for Business Professional+ and Agency Plans

Your AI Visibility Data.
Wherever You Already Work.

You already ask Claude or ChatGPT to help you think through strategy. Now you can ask it about your own brand’s AI visibility — your ModelScore™, your citation rate on each platform, how you stack up against competitors — and get a real answer, pulled live from your own CiteMetrix data.

The CiteMetrix MCP Server connects your account directly to any AI assistant that speaks the Model Context Protocol. No exporting a report, no copy-pasting numbers into a prompt — just ask.

What You Can Ask Today

📊

ModelScore™ & Trend

🔍

Citation Rate

“Is any AI platform saying something wrong about us?” Pull active accuracy alerts, verified brand facts, and hallucination history — the same data your Accuracy dashboard shows, asked in plain English.

🎯

Competitive Intelligence

Built for How You Actually Work

Client Updates

Scenario: You’re drafting a monthly update for a client and need this month’s citation rate, last month’s for comparison, and a one-line read on the trend.

How the MCP Server helps: Ask your AI assistant for the numbers while you’re already drafting the email. No tab-switching, no re-checking the dashboard twice to make sure you copied it right.

Agency Reporting at Scale

Scenario: You manage AI visibility for a dozen client accounts and need a quick gut-check across several of them before a Monday call.

How the MCP Server helps: Ask about each domain in sequence, right inside the conversation you’re already having with your assistant — instead of opening a dozen dashboard tabs.

Strategy Sessions

Scenario: You’re working through positioning with an AI assistant and want to ground the conversation in your actual numbers, not assumptions.

How the MCP Server helps: Your assistant can pull your real ModelScore™, citation rate, and competitive share of voice mid-conversation, so the strategy you land on is built on your current data.

Quick Checks

Scenario: Someone asks “how are we doing with AI visibility?” in a hallway conversation or a Slack thread, and you want a real answer, fast.

How the MCP Server helps: Ask your assistant instead of opening CiteMetrix — get the current score and trend in the time it takes to type the question.

Common Questions

What is the Model Context Protocol (MCP)?
MCP is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT connect to external tools and data sources in a structured way. Instead of you manually copying data into a chat, an MCP-compatible assistant can call a tool — in this case, CiteMetrix’s — and get a real, structured answer back. The CiteMetrix MCP Server exposes your account’s data through that standard, read-only and scoped to your own account.
Can the MCP Server see other customers’ data?
No. Every request is authenticated with an API key tied to your account, and every tool call is scoped to the domains your account has access to. There is no cross-account visibility.
Can an AI assistant change my CiteMetrix settings through this?
Not currently. Every tool the MCP Server exposes today is read-only — it can answer questions about your data, but it can’t modify domains, settings, or monitored queries. Write access is on the roadmap for a future release, clearly separated from the read-only tools available now.
Which AI assistants work with it?
Any AI assistant or client that supports the Model Context Protocol as a remote server connection — this includes Claude and a growing list of other MCP-compatible tools. If your assistant supports connecting to a custom MCP server, it can connect to CiteMetrix’s.
How do I get access?
The MCP Server is available now for Business Professional, Enterprise, and Agency plans. Generate your own key in minutes — go to your account menu, click API Keys, and find the MCP Server Access section. See the full setup guide for step-by-step instructions for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and more.
Is my data rate-limited?
Yes — each API key is limited to 60 requests per minute and 1,000 per day, which comfortably covers normal usage (asking questions in a conversation) while protecting the underlying systems from accidental runaway requests.
